5 Yarra Valley Wineries with Accommodation

March 08, 2021

If you want to organise an offsite product launch or a corporate retreat within an hour or so of Melbourne, why not make it an immersive experience by staying amongst the vines in the Yarra Valley, only an hour or so from Melbourne CBD?

Here's five of our finest to consider for your next away-day event.

Balgownie Estate
If you're planning a large corporate event, you may want to check out the resort-style Balgownie Estate which can accommodate up to 144 guests in contemporary-style suites and apartments.

No need to go offsite on your Yarra Valley offsite event, delegates can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Eatery cafe or order room service.

Pick a team-building event such as wine tasting, wine blending, Segway Olympics, archery, bootcamp, orienteering, indoor or outdoor activities, available as half-day or full-day options depending on your agenda.

You can also offer your guests and their partners the chance to unwind at the Natskin Day spa.

Meletos
One of the larger Yarra Valley venues, bringing a touch of Tuscany to the Yarra Valley, Meletos is world-renowned for its expansive grounds, amazing Euro-Australian inspired food and stunning views.

Created by the people behind Stones of the Yarra Valley, The Stables at Stones and No.7 Healesville, Meletos encompasses a regional café, events space, providore, 23-room The Farmhouse At Meletos boutique hotel and brewery, all housed within converted century-old vignerons quarters and surrounded by apple orchards and vineyards>

This is, clearly, the choice for a small-scale Mediterranean-flavour product launch or themed event and its raw brick-walled Warehouse, designed for corporate events, gives it an on-trend industrial theme.

Seville Estate
Winning the 2019 James Halliday Wine Companion “Winery of the Year” award is no small feat.

With its first vines planted in 1972, all fruits are handpicked and sorted in the vineyard to assure the best quality.

Perfect for a smaller corporate event, you can book the contemporary space of the Seville Homestead with four bedrooms for up to eight people, and/or the three self-contained Vineyard Apartments, designed for couples. If you book all accommodation you can sleep up to 14 guests.

Its restaurant sources its produce from local Yarra Valley providores, and changes its menu weekly based on what's freshly grown or made in season.

Soumah of Yarra Valley
Ville D’Soumah is not unlike staying at your uncle's well-appointed country ranch house, if it happened to also have a cellar door, Italian trattoria for lunch, and a premium wine room.

The delightful Ville D'Soumah accommodates up to eight people in up to four double bedrooms and includes three TVs, Foxel, free broadband, wood-burning fireplace and an indoor and outdoor gas fireplaces.

Cook up a storm in the villa's large country-style kitchen or drive over to Healesville, just 10 minutes away, for a range of dining options.

Hanrahan and Pimpernel Vineyards are within walking distance and Rochford Wines and Levantine Hill vineyards are just 2km away.

    Chateau Yering
Add a fantasy option to your corporate offsite event by staying at heritage-listed Chateau Yering. It's a little younger than the Bridgerton era, but still, it makes for a memorable stay.

Ideal for larger groups, the early Victorian-era mansion, set on 250 acres in the Yarra Valley, boasts 32 individually furnished five-star guest suites.

If you can get your guests to make it a phone-free weekend, you really could imagine going back in time.

Book an exclusive boardroom meeting for up to 10 employees around a mahogany table or the conference centre that can cater to up to 150 delegates.

Fun fact: at the site of Chateau Yering Hotel, in 1838 the region's very first vineyard was planted.
