Melbourne's bayside area, stretching from St Kilda to Mordialloc has a number of venue options for companies to celebrate a corporate event, or for couples wanting to marry by the beach, close to the city.  

Find out what six bayside Melbourne venues have to offer for your special event.

Riva St Kilda, St Kilda
Right on the water, Riva St Kilda offers a very funky location. The waterfront Village Green, which hosts the annual New Year's Eve party with DJs, can host an enormous party for up to 1,500 guests.

The Marina Room, downstairs, offers a glamorous nightclub atmosphere complete with a stunning rustic stone fireplace, looks onto the luxury marina and seats 180 guests at a sit-down dinner event or 150 with a dance floor.

Upstairs, the airy, lightly draped Marquee Room and Palm Deck offer function spaces from 20 to 150 guests. These rooms are adjacent to the Beach Deck, which is open to the public who flock here on Friday and Saturday nights for the Melbourne house DJ.

Riva St Kilda doesn't charge room hire but does have a minimum spend.

Elwood Bathers, Elwood
Previously known as Sails On The Bay, this absolute beachfront venue has been recently renovated and reopened as Elwood Bathers.

Guests can gaze through the floor-to-ceiling glass windows at metres of uninterrupted gorgeous white sand and beyond to the sparkling water of Port Philip Bay.

You can opt to book the elegant Event Room for up to 130 guests, while the more casual yet still glamorous, white-walled bistro can fit up to 170 guests. And there's the Private Dining area that runs right agains the length of the windows for a lucky 36 guests.

Royal Brighton Yacht Club, Brighton
Many people think they have to be a member of the Royal Brighton Yacht Club to host their party there, but that's not the case. This is clearly the obvious choice for a nautical-themed event and even more so if you plan to make a grand entrance and/or exit by private yacht!

You can hire the Bayview Room which seats up to 220, or 200 guests with a dance floor while the Olympic Room hosts 70 people, or 50 with a dance floor. For the very small corporate dinner of 14, you can hire the Commodores Room.

A room hire fee is applicable if you have under 100 guests for the Bayview, or under 40 guests for the Olympic Room.

The Brighton Savoy, Brighton
This smart hotel, a stone's throw from the famous Brighton Beach bathing boxes which are so popular for fun photo opportunities, offers event organisers with out-of-town guests a clever option for accommodation before and after the event.

You can book the large Gala Room which adjoins the glass Atrium Courtyard for events of 100-250 guests, the Seaview Room with an adjoining Balinese-style courtyard perfect for cocktail functions for 80-130 guests offering ocean views over Brighton Beach, or the glamorous Wellington Room for smaller parties of 30-80 guests.

For a truly intimate celebration or for your exclusive company dinner, you can book the Seaview Terrace with its 180-degree views over Port Phillip Bay for between 24-50 guests.

Cerberus Beach House, Black Rock
Located above the ever-popular fish'n'chip shop at Half Moon Bay is the award-winning Cerberus Beach House offering panoramic views of the bay.

The rustic-style restaurant with fishing nets suspended on the ceiling and concertina windows, has a welcoming, shabby chic feel making it perfect for a rustic beach theme special event.

It's also perfect for having an intimate VIP celebration as it seats 45 guests or can fit up to 80 for a cocktail party.

Sunnyboy Beach Club, Mordialloc
Previously named the Windows On The Bay, the newly opened Sunnyboy Beach Club has a relaxed feel to it, with floor-to-ceiling windows to take advantage of the gorgeous views of the bay and if you happen to organise an event during the winter months, it has a contemporary fireplace to warm yourselves by.

The venue seats 150 guests for dinner or up to 200 for a cocktail function.
