Most and Least Popular Months For Australian Couples To Book Their Weddings
If you plan to get married in the next two years, there are certain peak periods as well as low-season times to book your wedding.
My Wedding Decor surveyed 487 couples getting married between 1 September 2017 and 30 June 2019 to find out the most popular wedding dates.
Most and least popular seasons to marry
Three in 10 (31.1%) chose to get married in spring between 1 September-30 November 2017 closely followed by Australian autumn weddings between 1 March-31 May 2018 (28.7%).
Summer is less popular than you might think with 17.8% marrying between 1 December 2017 and 28 February 2018 (18.6%).
Winter remains the least likely to marry with only 5.9% planning their wedding between 1 June-31 August 2018.
The majority of couples (78.4%) are getting married in the next nine months to 31 May 2018.
Of the entire two-year survey period however, only 10.6% are getting married in spring between 1 September-30 November 2018.
Around this time, the days are long, and the weather is lovely and warm for getting married, perfect for beach wedding ceremonies or romantic garden weddings.
Fewer couples have booked their weddings late into 2018 and beyond with only 10.2% booking spring weddings for 2018, in summer 2018/2019 (3.1%) or autumn 2019 (1.9%)
