7 Ways To Create Maximum Visual Impact At Your Event

There are so many ways you can have all your guests blown away by your event when they walk in the venue space. Here's 7 tips that could help you.

1. Buy multiples of the same item to make maximum impact
Buy glass vases in similar colours, finishes or shapes (taking care to vary the sizes and even the shapes, if possible), and arrange them in multiples on each table. This creates height and instant visual impact.

2. Hire high plinths or columns to go on your tables
These towering floral stands are perfect for venues with very high ceilings to create a feeling of intimacy. Your guests can see each other "through" the floral stands and you can use more foliage than flowers to create maximum visual impact.

3. Stock up on candles
Whether you order paraffin wax, soy or battery-operated candles, tea lights or pillars, you can never have too many candles to create real atmosphere. Against, or on mirrors, it reflects to look like you have even more of them.

4. Submerge your flowers

Ever seen the Dr No James Bond movie where the giant fish is swimming in the aquarium?

It looks huge because of the 10-inch thick convex glass!

Use the same trick if you have narrow guest tables and not much space for flowers.

Combine tall cylindrical glass vases and mirror basesand plunge your preferred flowers in the water. The glass, water and mirror together act to maximise the size of the flowers making it look like you've ordered many more.

5. Increase the green foliage
Leaves, fronds, trees, fruits and vegetables are available year-round - and they are a wise choice if any of your guests have allergies.

You could also gather and spraypaint pine cones for a winter wonderland event, or fill faux clam shells for summer events with limes, lemons and oranges. 

6. Mirrors are your best friend

 When you're scouting for venues, look for ones which have massive mirrors down one side of the room as these will automatically reflect and double the impact of your decor. Every table should have a mirror base being round or square-shaped for round tables, and long mirrors for communal-style tables.

Don't believe me? Put your finger over the mirror in the photo and pretend it's just the mustard tablecloth - it's not nearly as impactful.

7. Use your decor for catering
Vintage cake stands will look great with pretty cupcakes. A few wicker picnic baskets are ideal for an outdoor product launch event to hold everything.

Mirrored trays can hold candles and strikingly pretty Moroccan tea glasses, while mercury glass vases would look amazing with silver Hershey's Kisses or gold Ferrero Rocher chocolates.
